Planning
Plan what you sell and what you buy, quarter by quarter. Sell planning is for fleets, Buy planning is for dealers, and Planning together covers what the two plans share. Each side is a product your organization switches on.
TL;DRAI summary
This chapter explains Cypress Planning, where you decide what vehicles to sell and when, or what vehicles to buy and at what price. Planning helps you reach your goals by preparing vehicles for sale or identifying vehicles to acquire.
Planning is where a quarter is decided before the work starts. A fleet decides which vehicles to sell and when. A dealer decides what to buy, by when and at what price. Sequoia, Cypress's market reader, sits beside both plans and suggests; you decide, and you make every move.
Each side is a product your organization switches on. If you do not see it yet, ask your Cypress manager, or request it from the app.
Read the part that is yours:
Sell planning
For fleets. The quarter plan, lots, sale windows, the hand-off to Sell and the review of how the plan held. Start here if you own vehicles you will sell.
Buy planning
For dealers. The quarter's goal and budget, targets and tracks, matches and the Buy analysis, purchases and the review against your approved plan. Start here if you buy.
Planning together
What the two plans share: how a seller's plan and a dealer's plan meet on one market, Sequoia and its rail, the Market tab, the quarter bar, Planning inside remarketing, and the Cypress desk that Cypress staff use to broker a fit.
How the three parts fit
A seller's plan says what will be for sale and when. A dealer's plan says what is wanted and by when. The two never see each other's names, prices or limits: they meet only as anonymous counts and ranges, in the Market tab, in Sequoia's forecast and in the places Planning reaches into Remarketing. When a fit is worth brokering, Cypress staff work it from the Cypress desk, which customers never see. Planning together draws the whole loop.
Where Planning sits in a vehicle's life
Planning decides which vehicles enter Sell, and when, and what a dealer plans to buy. It does not list, price, disclose or bill anything: that is Remarketing, and what happens after an offer is accepted is Post-sale. The lifecycle is drawn in Sell planning.
